Kavita Jaiswal (b.1960) has explored abstraction for almost 40 years. Trained in the arts under Rameshar Broota at Triveni Kala Sangam, the very building in which Art Heritage resides, Jaiswal has had a long relationship with the gallery. Her first solo exhibition at Art Heritage, ‘Cognizance’ was in 2005, and marked a clear consolidation of her genre within abstraction. She has also had solo shows at The Queen’s Gallery, British Council and Art Konsult. Her practice explores a multitude of mediums including drawings, paintings, photography, artist books and video. Kavita’s works can be found in several collections including The National Gallery of Modern Art (New Delhi), The Alkazi Collection of Contemporary Art, The British Museum and The British Council (New Delhi) to name a few. She has participated in several International shows including the Chelsea International Art Exhibition in New York.
