A Rising Tide: Women Artists from the Alkazi Collection

October 16 – November 18, 2025

To mark the centenary of Ebrahim Alkazi’s birth, Art Heritage presents A Rising Tide: Women Artists from the Alkazi Collection (October 16-November 18, 2025), curated by Nancy Adajania.

What is marvellous about the Alkazi’s collection of women artists is their non-conformity to any particular medium, artistic trend or movement offering us the perfect occasion to contextualise and critically annotate the diverse practices of women artists…A Rising Tide is composed of many startling adjacencies. Imagine encountering Arpita Singh’s significant detour in her practice––her abstract landscapes from the 1970s––in the same neighbourhood as Yayoi Kusama’s cosmic nets… The current celebration of Alkazi’s birth centenary with A Rising Tide offers the perfect occasion to contextualise and critically annotate the diverse practices of women artists in the Alkazi Collection.
