While West Bengal’s contributions to painting and printmaking have been extensively studied and appreciated, there has been a noticeable void in the discourse surrounding its sculptural heritage. Past Continuous, curated by Ina Puri, endeavors to fill this gap by initiating a dialogue that amplifies the significance of sculptural art from Bengal. By bringing together a diverse array of artists, both established and emerging, the exhibition fosters a collaborative platform where the continuum of sculptural practices can be explored and celebrated. It serves as a catalyst for reinvigorating interest and appreciation for Bengal’s sculptural legacy, paving the way for a deeper engagement with this captivating art form.
