Shape Shifting: Fluid Geometries in Ceramics
March 30 – May 18, 2024
Shape Shifting: Fluid Geometries in Ceramics showcases a bold re-imagining of ceramics, where traditional conventions give way to abstraction and innovation. The exhibition showcases a wide array of approaches by highlighting ceramics as a dynamic art form, with textures, colors, and forms layered into powerful expressions of movement, light, and depth, connecting deeply with themes of perception and creativity: Vyom’s forms evoke movement and dynamism, while Suvajit Mondal and Shalini Dam redefine spatial reality through illusions and lenticular effects. Abir Patwardhan combines curves and angles to craft tension and balance, and Mudita Bhandari’s textured installations manipulate light and shadow to suggest migration and transformation. Each piece challenges perception and expands the possibilities of ceramics, presenting it as a medium of endless artistic potential.
